About Beautiful Illusion
Beautiful Illusion is the title of Alisha’s first EP (‘extended play record’) and it was released on August 27, 2021. The collections of songs are about perseverance, growth and healing. They reach down into the hearts of the hurting with messages of hope and understanding.
Beautiful Illusion reminds us that our struggles are an important part of our journey, and that it is okay to hurt sometimes. It also reminds us that those struggles won’t last forever. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, even if you can’t see it in that moment; and, when you get there, which you will eventually do, you will be have grown and become stronger.
The EP itself consists of six (6) songs, plus a bonus instrumental track. They are all very different in tempo and style. Some are acoustic ballads, whiles others are fast-paced dance beats. Together, they tell a story of the struggle and hope of the beautiful illusion.

Hourglass
First released on May 7, 2021, Hourglass is a song about perseverance and healing. It speaks to the emotional pain someone goes through after a traumatic event, and it reminds us that healing takes time, and eventually the storm will pass.
Yellow Rose
Yellow Rose is a melancholic song written in hopes to comfort those that are hurting, when everyone around them just wants them to be okay. Reality is sometimes we hurt, and that’s okay. It’s part of what makes us human.
Paint On A Cloud
Paint On A Cloud was initially released on July 16, 2021. It is a blissful song that alternates between hopeful and melancholic moods. It’s about self-discovery and letting go of things that are toxic such as an unhealthy relationship or emotional state. It is meant to encourage its listeners to let go of the negative influences even if you don’t have all the answers up front. Because each step helps you to find those answers and brings you closer to the you, you were meant to be.
Distorted Reality
Distorted Reality is a melancholic song about emotional extremes. It connects with its audience at a deep emotional level melodically and lyrically, in hopes, to bring its listeners consciousness to the blindfold of spiraling unconscious negativity, so that, when it happens they are aware of it, and better equip to put on the brakes.
Whose Definition
Initially release on June 11, 2021, Whose Definition fun fast-paced song with an Avril Lavigne vibe. It is about unrealistic social/physical standards. It reminds us about the dangers of getting caught up in the vicious cycle of trying to conform to unrealistic ideals, and that there is no single standard. We’re all different, and we are all beautiful.
Beautiful Soldier
Beautiful Soldier is an emotional, yet empowering song dedicated to all those who are going through tough times. It reminds us that those difficult times are what made us stronger, it helps us build character and define who we are. It reminds us that our journey, as difficult as it may be, may be the inspiration someone else needs to help them rise up and persevere.

Static Record is a fun, upbeat experimental instrumental track. Stereo and/or headphones recommended.
the Lyrics
dearest Sunshine,
‘dearest Sunshine,’ is a comforting song, a letter, if you will, from me to my younger self. Now that I’m older I often reflect upon some of those earlier days when things were rough and I wasn’t sure I’d make it through. “dearest Sunshine,” is my way of sending me, sending all of us, a gentle reminder that it is going to be okay, even though it may not seem like it at the time, someday you are going to be really proud of you.
Have you ever thought about what you would say to your younger self? Especially on those days when you were struggling and weren’t sure you’d make it through? Those questions were the inspiration behind the song “dearest Sunshine,”
‘dearest Sunshine,’ is a comforting song, a letter, if you will, from me to my younger self. The melody includes nostalgic lilts similar to a lullaby and childlike instrumental references such as the music box.
“dearest Sunshine,” is my way of reminding me, reminding all of us, that it is going to be okay, even though it may not seem like it at the time, someday you are going to be really proud of you.
Weeping Cloud
Weeping Cloud is a melancholic song about giving yourself permission to feel worthy of love even when you are overwhelmed and when the things you’re having to deal are crushing. After all, nature itself shows us that clouds rain when they get too heavy.
With all that’s going on in the world today, more than ever people need music that reminds them that there are people in this world that love them, even during their darkest days.
That was the inspiration behind Weeping Cloud. Life has tons of difficulties, and its okay to feel overwhelmed by it all – but also know that “you’re beautiful and loved throughout” even though you may not feel like it at that time.

Quiet Little House
Quiet Little House is a Christmas song about holding onto the love and memories of people and times that may not be with us anymore. Last year I lost my grandmother and great grandmother within a short period of time. As you can imagine the holidays that year weren’t the same. It was really hard.
So, I wanted to write a song that speaks to that kind of change and the flood of memories we are often faced with during the holidays after losing someone we love. Through that experience I learned that holidays are more than our traditions. They’re about friends, family, the people we love and the memories we’ve made with them. As time goes on and things change, the holidays give us a chance hold on to that love and those memories for they will always be a part of us. And, that’s a good thing.
